The History Behind Our Making & Our Future

Interior Designer Emma Sturgess-Lief started Show Home Designers in January 2004 as an extension of her original company, The House Surgery Ltd.

The services offered include Show Home Design, Interior Design, Home Staging, and Show Home Furniture for Hire or Purchase.

The House Surgery is the big sister company to Show Home Designers and has been trading successfully since 2003. Quickly, it became clear that there was strong demand for high-quality furniture and accessories to help present properties in the best possible light. To meet this need, The House Surgery invested in its own warehouse of carefully sourced rental stock — and from that, Show Home Designers was born.

This dedicated and highly creative team now focuses exclusively on new build show homes, producing innovative, lifestyle-driven designs that feel aspirational and emotionally engaging.

Emma brings a wealth of experience in the property industry and has transformed a huge number of homes — from light makeovers to full renovations. She has worked with both large and small developers, always with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to making even modestly priced show homes look spectacular. Her high standards are reflected in the work of her trusted team of designers and trades.

Show Home Designers is intentionally kept small and friendly — a team of talented professionals who care deeply about every project. Emma oversees each one personally, ensuring that the high standards, attention to detail, and tailored service she’s known for are never lost.
